gouache painting on an olive green background of a stylized, overflowing basket of black plums. long plum leaves cascade over the edges of the brown woven basket, dropping onto the ground. Several plums have been pecked open to show bright red insides: the culprits are speckled, iridescent starlings. One sits on a discarded plum, one hides behind a pile of three plums and the basket, looking up, and a third flies away, leaving pecked plums behind.
